Spiritual Wisdom- Tough Love vs Tender Love

Many people today in our society have misunderstood love in its two forms, well I hope to clear up any confusion, but first I would like to clearly state that there is such a thing as righteous condemnation and wicked accusations one lets to Godly Sorrow which leads to repentance and salvation in Christ Jesus and the other does not, lets take a look at one example in Scripture

Romans 3:8 Why not says some slanderously claim that we say ” Let us do evil that Good may result” Their condemnation is well deserved

here Apostle Paul talks about righteous condemnation, a condemnation that is unjust would be one the devil uses to condemn people concerning their past or shaming them with a worldly standard (we’ll discuss that later) but not providing a way out. that being repentance, this is what Scripture calls worldly sorrow that causes death..

2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

so its clear that wicked condemnation leads to worldly sorrow which leads to death both spiritual and physical, but righteous condemnation leads to repentance which leads to salvation, so if you are unsure if your condemnation is leading to salvation check if you are;

#1- Being lead by the Spirit of God, because It will be the Holy Spirit that convicts them

#2- If the condemnation is originating from you or from the Bible in which case it would be God Himself condemning them (justly & righteously )

#3- If you are doing it in a spirit of Love or Hate because that makes a big difference, people respect a preacher that gives hard truths in a loving spirit not in a hateful one

#4- One thing that brings tremendous worldly sorrow that no born again Christian should ever do is judge or condemn with wicked condemnation that leads to worldly sorrow inwardly or outwardly, its something we never look at much in that is we condemn or judge ourselves and others according to this temporary world and its temporary standard of what is desirable and what is not, we have to remember that Satan is the god of this world its system and wicked condemnation produces more death, Paul says this

1 Corinthians 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man’s judgment. Yea, I judge not mine own self.

why does Paul say this? because he knows this system is temporary and its standard of what is desirable is temporary.. as he says here

1 Corinthians 2:6 Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom—but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Here in these passages is why we should never condemn ourselves or others in a worldly standard because not only is this temporary worldly system on its way out, the God of Heaven and Earth uses the less likely or contrary to worldly expectations to accomplish His mightiest works, it says in that last passage, not many wise, Paul meant wise according to this temporary world meaning intelligent or charismatic or knowledgeable according to this temporary fallen world, not many are mighty meaning not many are famous or powerful, not many are noble, meaning, God doesn’t call the most righteous persons in the group but usually uses the most sinful and down right sometimes wicked and changes him or her and in a sense cleans him up to use him or her … I have long had the revelation from God saying we who are in Christ are being changed little by little (and we should never agree with our thoughts, words,acts with our enemy which are satan and his demons about ourselves or others because they only bring wicked condemnation and worldly sorrow) as Paul states here;

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with uncovered face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

So as you can see from Scripture we as Christians are being changed by the Spirit of the living God over our lifetime, God who lives inside us and is our Seal of ownership that we belong to Yahweh the Almighty, and we ought never to judge or condemn others unjustly or wickedly, just remember the other three points and ask yourself am I using the Worldly Standard or Heavenly Standard? yes one is temporary and the other is eternal.

SO bringing us to the second part of our message if you are bringing a message of Truth sometimes it will have to be said regardless of those being offended It is because you love them that you tell them the Truth, Scripture records Solomon’s wisdom here;

Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

We can take the ultimate example with our Father in Heaven

Hebrews 12:6-11

For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.  Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?  For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Everyone on earth needs love it just depends which kind of love they will need sometimes a little of both is needed to have someone get what they need from God to fully come to Christ and follow Him and serve Him, .. does God rebuke people? absolutely! but it depends with which love He is going to give you tough and tender, I’ve experienced both, just like Jonah when he rebelled and disobeyed. It takes God inspired Holy Spirit filled wisdom to know what type of love to give a person in each situation, so its best check in with the Holy Spirit first and He will guide you, tough or tender is the question….

Proverbs 14:29 A patient person shows great understanding, but a quick-tempered one promotes foolishness

The book of Proverbs in the Bible for example creates Godly sorrow because it shows the wrong way to do things and shows the right way to do things, because God by His Spirit gave me understanding concerning this, you can’t just stop and not do the wrong things only, you must replace the wrong with the right and continue to do the right.. proverbs from Solomon is the a good place to start with learning wisdom.. in closing I leave you with this proverb that reflects my message here;
